Cave bath Miskolctapolca

One of the most internationally famous attractions of the city is the Cave Bath in Miskolctapolca, where you can enjoy a bath in a system of caves with karstwater. It used to be the bathing place for Benedictine monks from the 16th century. In 2016 it was chosen to be the Bathing Place of the Year. It is a unique bathing complex in Europe. It is a great place for experiences and fantastic view with its indoor and outdoor pools. The Cave Bath is situated in a cave above hot springs. The water is 30 °C and the climate of the cave has a healing power especially for joint problems, but it contains less salt than other medicinal water. Its salt content is lower than 1000 milligram /litre so you can stay in it for indefinite time. As the bath has indoor parts and the water is hot, it can be used all year round, even in winter. The bath has a Cave Aqua Therapy part where you can enjoy a massage and other treatments every single day of the year.
